About this blog

This is my blog on the arts scene of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and surrounding Triangle communities. I'll focus on visual arts and the 2ndFriday Artwalk and other visual art events but that doesn't mean I won't chat about music, literary events, film or anything else in the local creative world. Please email with ideas, links, comments or brickbats. [I have comment moderation on so if you don't see your comment right away that means that I haven't had a chance to approve it yet. Sorry, but the spammers.....]

Triangle Book Arts Show opening tonight 6-9 Green Gallery @ Scrap Exchange

Come by this evening 6-9 and visit the Green Gallery in the Scrap Exchange. You can find more info here but for a bit of background:
The concept of a “book” is being scrambled now. Classic books have been digitized and accessible from the internet. Authors can write specifically for e-book publishing, bypassing traditional publishing methods altogether. Words are changing their spellings and their meanings faster than ever, and morphing into new iconic forms.
The definitions of the physical nature of the traditional book form is also changing. Books can be interactive, transformed into objects or dimensional story-telling vehicles, and a visual platform for metaphor, protest, and much more.
My partner Karen has five pieces in the show (below). Nine other artists are also participating.

A Miracle for Breakfast

September 1, 1939
Thirteen Ways Of Looking At A Blackbird

The "plum" poem is my favorite one by WCW! I like your partner's books.

Karen says "Thank you so much!" She has some of the books for sale at the NC Crafts Gallery in Carrboro and thinks that the WCW is one of them.

Good luck with your book.
