About this blog

This is my blog on the arts scene of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and surrounding Triangle communities. I'll focus on visual arts and the 2ndFriday Artwalk and other visual art events but that doesn't mean I won't chat about music, literary events, film or anything else in the local creative world. Please email with ideas, links, comments or brickbats. [I have comment moderation on so if you don't see your comment right away that means that I haven't had a chance to approve it yet. Sorry, but the spammers.....]

Metal Animals at the Carrboro's Farmers Market

Here's one that's a bit different.  I was at the Carrboro Farmers Market the past two Saturdays giving out circles for the Circle 100 Art project.  I noticed the parents with their children enjoying the metal critters on sale so this weekend a took a couple of photos.

Riley Foster of Foster's Custom Steel in Mebane makes metal animals of recycled or found metal, things like old butane tanks for use as interesting yard art.  Here's Riley with one of his birds.

And another with a mother and her son enjoying the bird and its head feathers.

Come by the market to buy one or call 919 563-5949
